Just one week out from the biggest day in Hawke's Bay Racing, fashion and the stylish set are prepared to shine.
This year it's not all about the ladies, with emphasis on male grooming and good dress sense meaning more local lads are expected to step up to the mark.
While a traditional suit is still popular with some, Hunt & Seek Fashion in the Field judges are just as likely to see coloured chinos and a structured sport jacket.
Blue is the colour du jour - from navy to light blue and all hues in between, says Thomson's Suits hire manager Ben Graham.
"We are seeing a lot of blue, it's huge in tailoring in particular."
Fellas looking to go a bit left of field could even try rolling up a dress pant with no socks.
Shoes should suit to the outfit and absolutely must be clean and polished. Classic fedoras, pork pie and cheesecutter hats were all appropriate raceday attire and had a debonair quality.
"It's an opportunity for guys to do something and wear something they wouldn't normally choose, and no one's going to judge them."
Mr Graham felt an increasing number of men's style blogs had something to do with Kiwi blokes showing a greater desire to follow fashion. Last year the number of male entrants at Hunt & Seek Fashion in the Field had improved but judges would like to see an even greater presence at the Livamol Classic, at Hawke's Bay Race Course in Hastings on October 4.
