The annual Taikura Rudolf Steiner School Fete on Sunday was bigger and better than ever, with a total of $20,000 raised for a new woodwork building.
About 2000 to 3000 people enjoyed the improved event.
"It was fabulous, certainly the biggest it's been," chair of the Fete co-ordinating group MalcolmCox said.
"It has been going for many years, but this time it took on a slightly different form, we decided to expand its outreach to the wider community."
People could browse key areas - a real food market, giant jumble sale, natural healing expo and an arts and crafts section and a new adventure playground for the children.
"What we wanted to do was to create a space where people would feel comfortable enough to stay for the whole day," he said. "It was really about family. We aimed to have natural, authentic, wholesome activities."
There were a couple of issues with holding a bigger event, such as parking, but that would be remedied next year Mr Cox said.
