A cyclist has been airlifted to a hospital in Wellington after being seriously injured in a crash involving a car in Napier on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Avondale Rd in Greenmeadows at 8.21am.
Hato Hone St John sent one ambulance, one rapid response unit, andone operations manager.
The injured person received medical treatment, and the Serious Crash Unit was advised.
Police said the cyclist was later airlifted to Wellington Hospital.
Cordons were in place around Avondale Rd, Knightsbridge Place and Osier Rd, and police say motorists could expect high traffic and delays while traffic control is in operation.
