A fire in a caretaker’s shed at a Napier school is being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters were called to a fire at Henry Hill School on Sunday, shortly after 11.30am.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said they received multiple calls about a shed fire at the school.

Two fire trucks and a support crew were quickly on the scene and extinguished the blaze.

She said the cause of the fire was being treated as suspicious, and a fire investigator was at the school on Sunday afternoon.

Henry Hill School shared a post on social media about the incident on Sunday.

“Just letting you know that there has been a fire in our caretaker’s shed this morning.

“Luckily it was quickly contained and no one was hurt.

“Our classrooms and other school buildings are all good.

“Safety measures will be in place around the damaged area.”
