Budding Hawke's Bay entrepreneurs have the chance to shape their business ideas with an open invitation to Hastings' PopUp Business School this May.

The PopUp will be open from May 3, with 10 days of free learning for anyone in the region who has a business proposal.

Business Hawke's Bay has partnered with Hastings District Council, Napier City Council and Ministry of Social Development to bring the PopUp Business School Aotearoa to Hawke's Bay as part of its economic and social development initiatives.

Business Hawke's Bay chief executive Carolyn Neville said hosting the school was a fantastic opportunity for those with a business idea to get relevant information and coaching.

"We have been working hard behind the scenes to make PopUp Business School Hastings a reality. This course is for anyone from Hawke's Bay who wants to start their own small business," she said.

The learning opportunity will equip participants with everything they need to start their own business and get online quickly.

Neville said attendees would learn how to start a business from scratch, for free.

"All they need is an internet connection, a good idea, an open mind and tonnes of energy," she said.

Designed to support the establishment of new businesses, the PopUp Business School delivers 20 workshops.

Topics include building a website for free, the quickest way to find a customer and how to start a business with no money.

The PopUp Business School was brought to New Zealand from the UK by Kiwi Tony Henderson-Newport.

The first course ran in Porirua in October 2017. Since then, almost 1000 aspiring business owners have taken part.
