Bus route changed

A school bus to Flaxmere has been rerouted to avoid further violence between schools at Flaxmere Park.
Following yesterday's incident involving students from Hastings Boys High School and Flaxmere College, the bus would no longer travel past the park.
"It's the bus going past that gives them the chance," Boys' High principal Robert Sturch said. The school was working with Flaxmere College principal Nigel Hanson to deal with "ill-feeling" between some students at the schools.
He said segregation by rerouting the bus would not be a quick solution and they needed to address "integration and acceptance and standards of good behaviour".
