The "yummy mummy" from NZ Idol is now back to being just that.
Wairoa-born Toni Baird was the fifth person to be eliminated from the show on Monday after being named in the bottom two alongside 17-year-old Ben Hazelwood from Wellington.
The 29-year-old mother of three was the oldest contestant remaining in the show and while she struggled with a flu near the start of the top 10 performance rounds, she soon made her mark with her sultry style and raspy voice.
Toni soared through to the top 10 when she wowed the crowd with her rendition of Mt Raskil PS's Bathe in the River but couldn't manage to pull the votes after Sunday night's Groove special for which she sung Sweet Child of Mine by Guns'n'Roses.
Idol judge, Frankie Stevens, was shocked at the outcome.
"It wasn't Toni's time to go. She has been going from strength to strength and we still hadn't seen the best from her yet," Mr Stevens said. Her musical career isn't over either as she'll return to fronting her Wellington-based band, Nudge.
