Awatoto railway sleepers smouldering

Four railway sleepers on a rail bridge at Awatoto were found to be on fire yesterday at 4.55pm. T
The Hastings fire service said the sleepers made of hard wood were just smouldering.
KiwiRail did a safety assessment on the bridge, which was made of concrete except for the sleepers.T
