A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Napier.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Gloucester St, Napier, about 6.34pm on Thursday night,
The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit investigated the scene.
Diversions were in place and a police investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
"Serious crash investigations can take some time - months in some cases - depending on the complexity," a police spokeswoman said.
Emergency services were also called to two further crashes in Hawke's Bay overnight.
Police received a report of a two-car crash on Faraday St, in the Napier suburb of Hospital Hill, about 7.41pm on Thursday.
Nobody was injured and the road was not blocked. Two fire trucks attended the scene.
Emergency services were also called to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Te Mata Rd and Waimarama Rd, Havelock North, about 5.50am on Friday.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said one ambulance was sent to the scene, but nobody was injured.
A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle which was blocking the intersection.
