A woman has been charged with careless driving causing the death of a man who was hit by a car near a busy suburban Napier shopping centre five months ago.
The woman, aged 24, appeared briefly before a registrar in Napier District Court today and was remanded on bail without plea to appear again on November 28.
The charge relates to the June 15 death of 72-year-old recently-retired Pan Pac forestry and logistics manager Brian Pritchard.
Pritchard was hit by a vehicle while crossing Maadi Rd, near the Onekawa Shopping Centre.
