We are heading into the last week of winter, but in the Bay it could already be spring, with warm temperatures and sunshine expected for the start of the week.
Metservice meteorologist Peter Little says a northwesterly flow, which developed on Sunday, will see fine weather for Monday and Tuesday.
"The start of the week will still be fine weather for the Bay, looking at 17 for Monday and 17 for Tuesday as well, so still relatively mild temperatures.
"It's not until a front crosses the country on Wednesday that it may bring a period of rain.
"Mostly it will be about the ranges, so about the coast there will be just a few spots.
