Other businesses, like the Resort Store, had moved to a location with more foot traffic.
"A newcomer that has opened a second outlet is Little & Fox Design. Others have shifted from Hastings to Havelock North such as BM accounting, Rural Directions and Stock Co."
Brand new businesses such as Pie Fund and Fortify had also been established.
"The majority are still very individual boutique, unique businesses and that's what visitors and locals alike want.
"It's great to see more stores opening over the summer and event weekends which adds to the vibrancy of the Village.
"May has had some outstanding trading weekends with the HB Marathon, Mother's Day & Targa. We have heard positive, complimentary feedback from visitors to our village noting especially the warmth and friendliness from the retailers and hospitality staff and feeling welcomed. They love that and will share the love with their friends and family and return!
Looking ahead it is exciting to see more development under way as growing demand for business continues in Havelock North.
One of the latest to move into the village is Giant Brewing Co, who have taken up residence on Donnelly St. Director and brewer Chris Ormond said the move would give the expanding company "more presence" across the region.
"We turned an auto repair workshop [formerly Terry Brain Motors] into a suitable brewery space over summer and added some extra equipment.
"For the previous three years or so Giant operated on a smaller scale from a leased space within the Origin Earth milk/cheese factory on Te Mata Rd. We used - and continue to use - Roosters Brewery on Omahu Rd for extra volume.
"We have always wholesaled to bars, restaurants, supermarkets, wineries, etc, but are about to open a small off-licence retail bit at the front of the brewery for flagon fills/bottle sales.
"The move gives us a bit more space and presence. We've never really marketed the beer, other than doing events and having it on shelves and social media, and have never had any street presence, so hopefully we can now become more part of the furniture within the Hawke's Bay hospitality scene."
Hawke's Bay Chamber of Commerce chief executive Wayne Walford said there was "quite a conversation" amongst the business community regarding the positive look and feel of Havelock North.
Much of that was down to the set-up in the village.
"Pro-active developments that offer positive market lease options with attractive well-built and well-designed options around a quality accommodation facility like Porter's are always attractive to businesses chasing the foot traffic.
"Porters Boutique Hotel is seeing year on year growth, they have an energetic young team and a breadth of high net wealth connection across New Zealand and Internationally."
The Targa Rally was a great example last weekend - the last patrons of Porters only just left on Wednesday.
"This is an great example of the holistic approach we need to take for quality accommodation, quality retail offering, quality amenity and great events."
