"There may be a bit of cloud about but not so bad.
"It's not as good as it's been.
"[Tomorrow] there will be thick high cloud and a few light showers but retreating into the ranges in the evening."
There will be front after front over the entire country, including Hawke's Bay, over the weekend and early next week, she said.
However, the district would miss out on the worst of the weather due to being sheltered from the ranges in the west.
On Monday there will be a few isolated showers from midday but they won't last long.
On Tuesday cloud will be increasing with another front coming through and a few spots of rain, she said.
The weather early next week is not as bad as further south with snow expected down to 700m in the South Island, Ms Clark said.
"You're getting off pretty light compared to the rest of the country."
On Wednesday the wind is expected to move from norwest to southwest with cloud increasing and a few showers.
Temperatures are supposed to be quite warm throughout the weekend with a high of 27C today in Napier and 23C tomorrow. Lows are expected between about 15C and 9C into early next week.
"It's pretty warm for Hawke's Bay."
Tomorrow's temperature will be the highest recorded in Napier over the last month with Thursday being the second hottest at 24C.
