Voters in Havelock North appeared to be organised today with very few people casting last minute votes at polling booths before 7pm this evening.
Earlier today voters queued at Havelock North High School to have their say but for the last few hours only a handful of people trickled into the school at any one time.
One voter said she had not voted at the high school before and usually went to the closest venue each election.
Michelle Williams popped into the Havelock North Bridge Club at about 6.30pm, leaving Molly, her 18-month-old lowchen dog outside while she cast her vote.
She lived only a few streets away from the club and had voted there for the last few elections because it was so handy.
