Tukituki Labour candidate Anna Lorck, Green Party candidate Chris Perley, and NZ First candidate Joe Kairau all kept themselves busy today in the lead up to tonight's election results.
Mr Perley had been planning a quiet day at home today, but it was not to be.
"I sat down intending to read and then had about five visitors and then phone calls - it's been quite busy," he said.
With such variation in the polls over the last few weeks, he said he would be watching the results with particular interest in what eventuated nationally, rather than the local electorate.
"I'll be curious to see how things like the 'youthquake' will relate to the final result."
He said he would be watching the results tonight with some of the "environmental faithful" at Te Awanga over pizza and wine.
