Presbyterian Support East Coast's third annual black tie event in Hastings raised more than $72,000 on Saturday.
Sparkle 2017, which raised money for the PSEC Family Works programme, transformed Trinity Hill Winery into a woodland for the banquet.
Family Works service manager Pam McCann said the organisation was grateful for the generosity of guests who were giving to an important and worthy cause.
It was a cause which made a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children, she said.
Money raised from the event would support the Social Workers in Schools (SWIS) programme which was designed to meet the increasing demand for children facing social and emotional challenges and family violence that affected their ability to learn.
