Police have swarmed a house in Napier's Hornsey Rd, after the discovery of 66-year-old man's body.
Provisional results of a forensic post mortem, released yesterday, determined James David Elliott had died as a result of head injuries, but police could not confirm whether circumstances surrounding his death were suspicious.
Mr Elliott was found at his Bluff Hill home on Tuesday by a family member who kept in regular contact with him.
He lived alone and was last seen alive by friends on Sunday afternoon.
One Bluff Hill resident who lived nearby said that Mr Elliott, "mostly kept to himself".
