The Hits Hawke's Bay Breakfast Show radio hosts Adam Green and Sarah van der Kley said it was awesome and nice to know people were supporting them.

"I am happy we can give people a laugh in the morning and I think Sarah and I have a good dynamic as we get along so well," Mr Green said.

Mr Green said there were some exciting things in the pipeline but couldn't go into detail at this stage.

Hawke's Bay Hits sales manager Shaun Irvin was excited to see the local breakfast show go from strength to strength.

"Adam and Sarah are engaging with their audience and continue to create great content that keeps loyal fans tuning in.

"With over 14,000 people interacting with them on Facebook, we couldn't be more thrilled."

NZME is doing well across the board in the region with Newstalk ZB the number one overall station with Mike Hosking holding on to the number one breakfast show and Radio Sport the number one sports station.

Nationally NZME and Partners continue to grow and now have more than two million listeners.

NZME's Chief Commercial Officer, Laura Maxwell said that NZME's radio was 'on a roll' with 54,500 new listeners, now reaching 60 per cent of all radio listeners.

In addition, iHeartRadio registered users have increased by 33 per cent year on year to over 631,000.

"This is an overall market share increase of 1.8 percentage points for NZME and Partners whilst Mediaworks went backwards for the second survey in a row, this time by 0.7 percentage points."

"I'm particularly excited that alongside our radio partners, we are better reflecting the new diversity of New Zealand's population."

NZME Managing Editor Shayne Currie said Newstalk ZB had grown its share in Auckland to 11 per cent and nationally to 10 per cent.

Mr Currie said that the Newstalk ZB results, along with Radio Sport enjoying the biggest growth of any station, with an additional 21,200 listeners, was a testament to the stations' talent and NZME's integrated newsroom.

NZME Group Director Entertainment, Dean Buchanan said ZM Breakfast has also had another great result with Fletch, Vaughan and Megan retaining their number one breakfast title for 18-34 year olds and Jase and PJ claiming the number one Drive show in this demographic.

Coast also retained the top music station for those who are 40 years and older.

"The power of NZME's content generators have the proposition right, proven by the growth in listeners. In addition, we have the benefit of iHeartRadio and its growing influence," Ms Maxwell said.

As a company NZME now reaches more than 3.3 million people in New Zealand.
