An improvement in players’ tactics was evident in the second round of the Winter Wackers badminton doubles last Thursday night.

Organisers were encouraged to see that players had moved from a “bashing game” to a more tactical approach where they thought about how to win.

Lots of laughter and fun accompanied games. Plenty of missed shots and some excellent shots enlivened proceedings.

The “shot of the day” accolade went to Paige Hindmarsh, according to a tie sheet.

Tomorrow is the final night of the competition and close contests seem likely. Water bottles and sweat towels may be essential!

Players are reminded that if they are going to be absent and can’t find a replacement, they should ring Linda White.
