Anahera Stills-Hindmarsh announced her return from working in Australia in emphatic fashion at the Patutahi Xmas Ham open tournament on Saturday.

Stills-Hindmarsh, in her first 18 holes at the ’Tahi since late May, posted one of the rounds of the day out of a field of over 120 players.

Her 84-21-63 fittingly won her the women’s 0-21 net but it wasn’t the low score of the day.

That belonged to Waikohu’s Sonny Ritchie — a staggering 93-37-56, which not only won the men’s 19+ net but also saw his World Handicap System (WHS) index slashed from 41.6 to 35.8.

Te Puia Springs’ Hiria McClutchie made the haul down State Highway 35 a rewarding one by not only winning the women’s 22+ net with 97-25-72, but also collecting one of the approaches.

Regan Hindmarsh’s 69-2-67 was the equal low gross. He won the men’s up to 11 net.

Poverty Bay’s Stu Harbottle won the men’s 12-18 net with 77-11-66.

Dwayne Russell had 15 pars in his senior men’s gross-winning 69.

Other gross winners in their sections were Shane Watson (79), Shaun Nepe (89), Skylah Pohatu (79) and Raewyn Pittar (96).

Sheree Gray’s purple patch continued with 41 points and stableford glory in her women’s division.

The other stableford victors were Pete Stewart (37), Mike de Luze (38), Dave Dodgshun (38) and Val Grace (37).

Retiring course convenor Chris Parker was acknowleged at the club’s AGM. Kevin Philip and Rae Burgess thanked Parker for the “great work and effort that Chris has put into making our course a top quality course in this district”, and there was a warm round of applause.

Parker has remained on the club committee and a new convenor is to be appointed.

Graham Holland and Kim Torrez won the Guy Farmer mixed pairs cup on Sunday. They totalled 84 points for the South African stableford format.

Club captain George Brown won the Wednesday 10-man shootout final yesterday.

Brown defeated Tom Hindmarsh in a chip-off on the ninth hole.
