NZME and Hair To Stare At are offering Tauranga women the opportunity to win a makeover.
The Indulge Ultimate Makeover competition invites women to nominate themselves or deserving loved ones to go in the draw to win an afternoon of pampering.
Eight finalists will be invited to the Hair To Stare At salon on June 2 for a makeover and a photoshoot which will be featured on the Bay of Plenty Times website and in Indulge magazine.
The public will be able to vote for their favourite finalist from June 4-15.
The winner will receive an Ultimate Girls Day Out pamper package at the new Hair To Stare At salon for themselves and five friends, while two runners-up will win a free cut and colour.
The winners will be announced on June 22.
Hair to Stare At salon owner Corina Conn met many women daily who had to schedule hair appointments into their busy daily lives and said it was important for women to take time for themselves.
"Looking after yourself and feeling good about yourself gives you heaps of confidence," she said.
As a mother-of-three and owner of the Bethlehem salon, Conn understood the limited time women often had for themselves.
"You need to step back and say, 'I am me'. I am not my children, my husband or my job," she said.
Indulge magazine editor Annemarie Quill said the competition was not about appearances, but about allowing women to have some time for themselves.
"It is a chance for women to feel good about themselves," she said.
Nominations close midnight on May 21 and the winners must be available on June 2 for a makeover and photoshoot.
