Trio on aggravated robbery charges following liquor theft

Two youths and a 17-year-old jointly charged with the aggravated robbery of Cherrywood Liquor store on Tuesday afternoon have appeared in court.
Two youths aged 16 both from Matamata were granted bail in Tauranga Youth Court yesterday subject to strict conditions including nightly curfews and a ban on them entering Tauranga except to attend court or to meet with their youth advocates.
Police did not  oppose bail  and  the youths are due back in court on November 9. Youth Court restrictions prevent their identifies being revealed.
Shay Myers, 17, of Tauranga who appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday, was remanded in custody by consent until Monday when a bail application is likely to be made.
