Te Puke Gymsports won the Supreme Award at the Western Bay Trustpower Community Awards last night.
Te Puke Gymsports is a volunteer-run not for profit organisation that employs qualified professional coaches and offers affordable courses in tumbling, trampoline, recreational and competitive gymnastics, and parkour.
Trustpower community relations representative Abbie Siely
said it stood out for its professional approach and efforts to increase membership and improve services in the last year.
"They conducted research into the club's membership, and implemented a strategic plan to increase participation, improve customer service, get everyday operations running smoothly and keep special projects on track."
Miss Siely said that the club's impact on the wider community resonated with judges, highlighting the two gymnastics events for schools the club had run, and the near doubling of the club's parkour programme to 90 participants a week.
