Police warning for flooded roads

Police are warning motorists to take care this morning as roads flood around the Bay.

A warning has been issued for State Highway 29 from Tauranga to Te Poi due to surface flooding on both North and South-bound lanes.

SH29 is open but drivers are advised to watch their following distances and take extra care.

Flooding has been reported on Papamoa Beach Rd, Mt Maunganui/Tui Rd and near the Kaimai School on SH 29.

"For those of you out and about today please take care on the roads. Drive to the conditions and watch your following distances," police said.
