People gather to climb aboard Pacific Hope.
An open day of the newly revamped Marine Reach ship, Pacific Hope, saw people queuing in today's cold and wet weather to climb aboard and see where voluntary services will be living for the next six months.
Optometrists, dentists, primary health care workers and construction teams will set sail for
Samoa, Fiji and Vanuatu to provide people of the Pacific Islands with free medical care worth about $2 million.
After two years of refitting the ship head to bottom fit for the high seas, the life changing service, named Project Hope, aims to bring medical treatment to those who don't have it.
Marine Reach CEO and volunteer Jesse Misa was impressed and happy to see the number of people who lined up to experience Pacific Hope before the wet whether packed in.
"It's great to see such a turn out before the rain and cold sets in today." he laughed.
