The Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Waihi yesterday evening after a motorcycle collided with a car.
Two males in their twenties were critically injured in the crash.
Both patients were stabilised by St John paramedics before being driven to Moore Park in Waihi were the Trustpower TECT rescue helicopter and Auckland's Westpac rescue helicopter landed.
The helicopter transported a 28 year old male with multiple injuries to Waikato hospital, his condition was described as critical.
