Over the years it has grown into a business. My graduate collection was selected for the London Fashion Week Graduate Show and from there a little boutique requested to exhibit the collection in its shop window in the UK. From these events I gained my first commissions. One commission was a bridal dress and this led the way for Beau-Couture, the origin of the label.

I love couture work, but it is not something you can wear everyday. So I launched a ready-to-wear line, taking inspiration from the beautiful fabrics and garment embellishment, to sell through boutiques.

Since moving to New Zealand, I relaunched the label Beau. Within just two years we already sell in 10 boutiques nationally and online.

The breathtaking New Zealand landscape paints our collection palettes and inspires texture and details for each garment. We also love our community and Beau helps keep artisan skills alive. It is the teamwork and passion for what we do that is so motivating and rewarding.

The typical Beau woman is...

Our customers recognise the passion, skills and community values of "made in New Zealand". They continue to support us because we stay true to this belief. The Beau woman finds confidence in herself, dressing to feel good and empowered by her choices. Our garments are timeless and our customers know whatever their age or shape they will be able to make Beau garments their own with style.

Beau is one of the labels in the indulge Outlet Sale on September 27.
