She was unhappy and overweight for two years, then Amy Sanders, 29, found something that changed her life - Zumba.
Mrs Sanders, from Papamoa, lost 25kg in three months. She danced off the weight by shaking her hips to catchy tunes.
Some might call the exercise programme a fad, others might call it a revolutionary way to exercise. Either way, Zumba is addictive and leaves you wanting more.
Mrs Sanders started Zumba in November last year, when she weighed 110kg. She now weighs about 85kg.
She swears by this new exercise form and said it was one of the highlights of her day.
"I had a gym programme but it wasn't exciting. I used to hate coming to the gym, then I found Zumba," she said.
"I got the DVDs with my friends and now I'm addicted."
"I just love it so much and it's so much fun. It doesn't feel like exercise but you leave sweating and feel like you've done a hard workout," she said.
