Double murder accused Deepak Nagpal has admitted killing Tauranga mother Ravneet Sangha and her 2-year-old daughter Anna who were both found dead at their Otumoetai home in June.
Nagpal, 23, in Tauranga District Court pleaded guilty to two counts of murder on Wednesday morning and was further remanded in custody by Judge Ian Thomas.
He will be sentenced on February 10 in the High Court in Rotorua.
The bodies of Mrs Sangha, 32, and her daughter were found in their Ngatai Rd home over Queen's Birthday Weekend.
It was revealed in court today that Mrs Sangha was stabbed more than 100 times, including about 41 to head, neck and face.
Her body was found in the laundry.
Her daughter was found in the washing machine and also had stab wounds.
Nagpal who boarded in the Sanghas' home was arrested in Auckland on June 7 while Tauranga police and search and rescue teams conducted an intensive search for the toddler.
Her body was found concealed in the house on June 7, some 20 hours after the discovery of her mother's body.
Nagpal first appeared in Manukau District Court on June 7 and faced a murder charge
in relation to Mrs Sangha when he appeared in Tauranga District Court on June 10. The second murder count was laid on June 25.
Mrs Sangha's husband Dev Sangha, a 37-year- old Tauranga taxi driver, was in India on business when he learnt of his wife's death and was told of his daughter's death on his return.
