Ms Potter said there had been an amazing selection of books this year, and in very good condition.
"I'm happy with the way things have gone," she said. "This is our major fundraiser of the year. The crowd has been very good."
Left over children's books will be sent to the Pacific Islands courtesy of the Kiwanis, Ms Potter said.
The fair was set up and taken down with the help of the Western Bay of Plenty Cadet Unit, and the presidents of both clubs wanted to thank these young people for their help.
Ms Potter said funds from last year's fair were used to install an electric barbecue at Moa Park in Mount Maunganui.
