SATURDAY:
What: Zahnee's Charity Dinner and Auction
Where: Otumoetai Golf Club, 23 Bureta Rd, Otumoetai
Time: Cash bar from 5pm, buffet dinner at 6pm.
Enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner and help raise funds for Zahnee Campbell to travel to New York for life-changing surgery. Theme: Fancy Eyewear ... wear the wackiest, most zany glasses you can find.
Tickets cost $25, available by contacting Jade on 542-0740 or email paulnjade@xtra.co.nz. Bring a few gold coins and your chequebook for raffles and an auction, with a mystery guest speaker and auctioneer on the night.
What: Waihi Beach Op Shop Ball
Where: Waihi Beach Community Centre, Beach Road
Time: 7.30pm
This has an international theme. Proceeds go to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
What: Mount Maunganui Sequence Dance
Where: Mount Maunganui Sports Centre, Cnr Hull and Maunganui Roads, Mt Maunganui.
Time: 8pm to 11.30pm
Mount Maunganui Scottish Society has a red theme for its Old time and Modern Sequence Dance. A friendly welcome, live band, and a scrumptious supper. Entry $8 (members $7). Organised by the Mount Maunganui Scottish Society. Ph Elizabeth 544 5633 or Val 552 5599.

Where: Mount Maunganui Library
Time: 2pm
Speaker: Mark Ray on being Mauao's Park Ranger. All welcome. $2 donation, afternoon tea provided. Please use the rear door.
What: Te Puke Forest & Bird Day Trip
Where: Mokoia Island visit
Time: Meet 7:45am at Boucher Ave car park near Export Meats to share transport.
A chance to see the thriving reserve and swim in the hot pool. Rain or shine, but cancelled if too windy. Four hours, moderate grade. Take food, jacket, togs, money for the boat trip, 50c trip fee and $12 per person if carpooling.

What: Coast Care Planting Day - Papamoa East
Where: Look for the Coast Care sign on either Motiti or Taylor roads, then walk down the beach access to join us.
Time: 9:30am-2pm

What: Dorothy the Dinosaur's Travelling Show
Where: Baycourt
Time: 10am
Dorothy hits the road for her New Zealand Tour. Join Fairy Clare and Fairy Larissa at the Fairies' Castle, where the story begins. Sing along with the cast to your favourite Wiggly songs, plus sentimental classics such as Incy Wincy Spider. You'll be dancing from take-off to touchdown! Tickets $23.50.
