A dairy owner has allegedly been hit on the head with his till, then robbed of it only to have it returned a few minutes later.
Police are at the scene of a robbery at Gate Pa Superette on Cameron Rd after being called about 3.50pm.
A police media spokeswoman said police were still at the dairy and, although the dairy owner did not appear to be seriously hurt, it was understood he was hit on the head during the alleged attack.
Early reports stated a knife could have been used in the robbery. It was believed the offender left with the till however it was returned a few minutes later by a member of the public, she said.
Police were looking for a middle aged male who left the scene in a small red car.
