A major outage affected the Pāpāmoa fibre network yesterday afternoon, with some residents still without internet access on Tuesday afternoon.
Ultrafast Fibre field crews are working to repair a damaged fibre cable in Pāpāmoa, which provides broadband to about 1500 users in the area.
An Ultrafast Fibre spokesperson said the cause was not weather-related, rather the cable was damaged by a contractor working in the area who is not connected with Ultrafast Fibre.
"The damage to the cable happened late yesterday and repair crews worked through the night on the service restoration," he said.

It is hoped the cable will be repaired by late this evening. Residents in the suburbs of Golden Sands and Palm Springs in Pāpāmoa East have complained about being without internet.
