An image of a massive huntsman spider on the door of an Australian house will make you think twice about taking a trip across the ditch.
The image has gone viral after featuring on Reddit's Australian news feed and has prompted other people to share images and stories of their own.
One Reddit member shared his encounter with one these spiders on his travels around Australia.
"I remember, as a naïve backpacker, harassing one of these with a mate. I've never seen a spider move so far as it came straight at us, F****** terrifying."
Another member commented that it "looks more like a draught stopper."
One user was so terrified they suggested taking extreme measures.
"So it's now time to take your prized possessions and leave the house. Your home now belongs to the spider. If you stay, this spider as now become your overlord."
It seems the creepy crawlies do have some fans though with users jumping to their defence.
Sharing a picture of another huntsman one user wrote: "This girl kept me company while I was renovating my home... I put her in the garden a couple of times but she always found her way back into the house."
A Sydney resident shared his "little guy" with the group also.
"It's raining in Sydney and this little guy tried to come inside and freaked out my wife. I took him to the shed to make a little 'art'."
"Huntsman. He's your furry friend who's fun to be with. He eats other spiders," wrote another user.
