Whanganui's new wastewater treatment plant is on schedule despite issues arising from the Kaikoura earthquake.
The November 2016 earthquake affected the delivery of equipment and materials from the South Island and also closed the Petone design office, halting the issue of drawings and documents for several weeks.
District council manager Mark Hughes told last week's infrastructure and special projects committee the setbacks were overcome and that the project remained on target to be fully operational by June 2018.
"The new waste water treatment plant is progressing very well with ninety per cent of the earthworks and thirty per cent of the construction complete. At this stage, the project is running right on budget and on time," Mr Hughes said.
A technical report presented to councillors provided a detailed update on progress.
