The first Moonlight Movie Night - part of Whanganui's Vintage Weekend last year - was attended by more than 3000 people and organisers expect an even bigger crowd this year.
The screening is Forrest Gump - the Oscar winner being shown on the largest outdoor screen in NZ at Cooks Gardens.
The 1994 Tom Hanks movie will be shown on Sunday, January 22. Gates open at 6pm, with entertainment from 6.30pm and the movie at 9pm.
Tickets - from the Royal Wanganui Opera House - are $10 for adults, $5 for students and pensioners and admission is free for children under 12, with movie-goers advised to take food, picnic blankets and chairs. Alcohol, glass and opened liquids are not permitted.
