Four Countdown Trafalgar Square staff were recognised yesterday for 25 years service at the store.
The quartet have clocked up a combined 100 years service between them since the supermarket first opened as Foodtown.
Store manager Gary Tanner said he couldn't ask for four better employees. "They put their heart and soul into what they do. I think loyalty is a rare thing in today's business world."
Cashier Jean Symes said she had enjoyed the people she had worked with over the years. Helen Stewart said it was the customers she dealt with on the checkout which had made the job enjoyable for so long. "I know some of them by name."
Checkout operator Rosemarie Fergusson, and long life assistant Judy Stringer completed the quartet, who celebrated with colleagues and family with a morning tea.
