A judge has warned a Wanganui man he will die if he continues his drug habit.
Pierre Charles Bullot pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of the party drug Fantasy, one charge of possession of cannabis and one of driving while disqualified.
The charges related to incidents between May and September this year.
This week the Whanganui District Court heard the 36-year-old artist had recently moved back to Wanganui to live with and be supported by his parents.
Defence lawyer Anna Brosnahan said Bullot had significant drug issues that had never been addressed.
"He's made progress in terms of his addiction." Bullot had been addicted to methamphetamine but had been off the drug for some time.
Judge Chris Sygrove warned Bullot about slipping back into a drug habit.
"It is [methamphetamine] one of the most addictive and dangerous drugs in the world."
On the driving while disqualified charge, Judge Sygrove convicted and sentenced Bullot to 12 months' supervision, 200 hours' community work and 12 months' disqualification from driving. It was to be served concurrently with the sentence for the drugs charges of 12 months' intense supervision, 200 hours' community work and to attend alcohol and drug counselling as directed by probation.
