The family came to Marton from Samoa in January 2007, she said.
"We wanted a better life for us and our children."
The couple had jobs to come to at CMP Rangitikei, and Anna said because they worked hard they also persuaded the company to bring out more of their family members.
"Because we all work very hard and they [CMP] like that."
We are a Mormon family and always have been, she said.
"We go to church in Feilding. Viala is the the main lead singer in the church. He has a beautiful voice."
Organiser of Marton's Got Talent, Rangitikei District councillor Cath Ash, said watching the sisters, VJ and their aunt perform last weekend was astounding. "They just brought a whole new dimension. They were awesome."
Two of the judges, dancing teacher Heather Calkin and singing teacher Tarn Murphy, were so impressed with the youngsters they have offered to teach them for free, said Ms Ash.
"It's not that they're not good now. VJ for example is superb. But just imagining where he could go with training is exciting and the girls already have beautiful voices - but some good voice training is never wasted."
Queen Pua is an absolute "crack-up", said Ms Ash.
"She is so clever. To see her perform the tradition female Samoan dance [the Siva] was so beautiful."
But in her act Queen Pua turned the dance around into a comedy routine where she does the Palangi [European] version.
"She was so funny, it was hysterical."
Anna Wulf-Kilisi said every night is talent night at home.
"We have karaoke, there is always lots of music and, of course, plenty of dancing. It's who we are."
And adding to the family success story is that the family is now living in their own new house, she said.
"We worked and saved very hard and we are very happy here."
