Wanganui mayor Annette Main will face her opponents at a public meeting on Monday.
The mayoral forum - organised by the Wanganui Chronicle and Whanganui Employers Chamber of Commerce - will take place in the concert chamber at the War Memorial Centre from 6pm.
Ms Main, who was elected mayor in 2010; Michael Laws, a sitting councillor and Whanganui District Health Board member and mayor from 2004 to 2010; and current district councillor and health board member Ray Stevens have all put their hand up for the top job, which will carry a salary in excess of $100,000.
Monday's meeting will give them the chance to address voters directly and explain their plans for the district's future. They will also face questions from the audience.
Doors open at 5.30pm.
