Men's Black Sticks coach Colin Batch is urging his group to learn from their past mistakes.

Their four-match series against Malaysia resumes today with the two teams currently level at 1-1 after New Zealand dropped the second match 3-2.

Batch says his group isn't picking up and learning from their errors.

He says there are things that used to happen well in their past that are now starting to creep in again.

Batch says they've come out of the blocks slowly in both matches and while physically they've been okay, the intensity hasn't been there.

The Black Sticks are aiming to improve their accuracy in front of goal.

Game three in Tauranga gets underway at 6pm.
