Auckland coach Paul Feeney has been promoted to look after the Blues backline in next year's Super rugby campaign.
Feeney will look after the attacking structures and skills in the backline group after being approached by new head coach Tana Umaga to link up with the organization. He will work alongside forwards coach Glenn Moore, defence coach Alastair Rogers and mental skills analysts Kylie Wilson.
"It is really exciting and I hoped the time was right for me," Feeney said.
"I have coached the Blues development side for three years and there is a lot of talent around in the region and I have got a lot of rapport with many of them.
"I want to give the rest of Auckland's campaign in the ITM Cup 110 per cent while also keeping my eye on other talent players before I get into the Blues work."
