The body of missing Taupo fisherman Ross Wyllie has been recovered by police divers.
Mr Wyllie, 30, had been missing on Lake Taupo since yesterday morning.
His body was found in Whakaipo Bay, about 200m from the area he was fishing, Senior Constable Barry Shepherd, of Taupo police, said in a statement.
Mr Wyllie, an experienced angler, borrowed a friend's dinghy early yesterday to go fishing on the lake.
At 9am yesterday the upturned dinghy was found washed up in the bay.
A search was carried out yesterday involving police, the harbourmaster, coastguard and volunteers.
