A teenage driver has been taken to hospital after colliding with a parked truck in Auckland.

The truck was parked on Santiago Crescent in Unsworth heights.

A police spokesman said the driver was initially trapped and a passenger has also been taken to hospital for assessment. Emergency services were called around 10.20pm.

The road will be closed until approximately midnight.

A St John spokeswoman said a teenager has been treated for minor injuries and transported to North Shore Hospital. The other occupant was rushed to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition. She doesn't know what age that patient is.

Meanwhile, a person was trapped after car rolled on the Southern Motorway.

A police spokesman said two cars collided around Greenlane and emergency services were called around 10.15pm.

"The driver of the car is shaken."
