Police are searching for a man with a violent past who has removed his electronic monitoring bracelet and left his address while on home detention.
Jade Harris appeared in the Masterton District Court on a breach of his home detention, after which he removed his monitoring bracelet and didn't return home.
Police said Harris is violent and has been known to possess weapons in the past, and are advising the public not to approach him.
He is serving a sentence on a range of dishonesty and driving offences.
Police in Wairarapa are searching addresses in Masterton and South Wairarapa looking for him.
Harris has associations to the Wairarapa and Nelson areas.
Senior sergeant Gordon Crawley of the Wairarapa police said Harris is believed to be travelling to Nelson.
He is 20 years old, European, 180cm tall and of medium build, with a distinctive tattoo on the left side of his neck.
