A tanker spilled its load of milk after crashing into a ditch this morning, closing a stretch of highway.
The accident happened north of Morrinsville and was affecting some traffic flows in the eastern Waikato. Police northern communications Inspector Lou Alofa said it could take a few hours to clean up the mess this morning.
"The road is closed off at the corner of SH27 and Whakahoro Road to the north and SH27 and Manhire Road to the south," Alofa said.
"Highway units are investigating," the inspector added.
St John sent an ambulance to the scene but nobody was injured.
