An Auckland Grammar student has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being knocked off his bike in a collision with a car.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Mountain Rd and Clive Rd in Mt Eden at 8.45am.

St John northern communications team leader Ptrece Gosney-Payne said the boy, believed to be aged between 13 and 14, was taken to Starship Hospital following the incident.
