Parliament paused proceedings this afternoon to pay tribute to All Blacks legend Sir Wilson Whineray.

The former captain and successful business leader died early yesterday in Auckland City Hospital.

MPs from across Parliament this afternoon spoke of the respect the majority of New Zealanders held Whineray in and how he would be sorely missed, Newstalk ZB reported.
