Teams with a search dog have failed to find missing Nelson woman Ann Sheridan, who was reported missing on Monday.
Police say they have grave fears for Ms Sheridan's safety after failing to find any evidence she had visited the areas searched today.
About a dozen police and 32 volunteers grid searched the area around Wakapuaka Cemetery, the hill to the Centre of New Zealand, and around Miyazu Park and Whakatu Marae.
The areas were identified after extensive interviews with friends and family of the 48-year-old.
Police say the search will continue tomorrow in the Grampians and Maitai River areas, which were also indicated as areas of significance to Ms Sheridan.
Anyone who may have seen Ms Sheridan since Saturday should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Senior Sergeant Grant Andrews said police were hopeful of finding Ms Sheridan but there were grave concerns for her welfare.
