Disc jockey Iain Phillip Stables wore a Superman suit to the Hamilton District Court yesterday to help him "fight crime" while he faced charges relating to on-air stunts.
Stables, aged 29, who works for Hamilton radio station The Edge, faced one charge of impersonating a detective and another of offensive use of a telephone.
Both relate to three phonecalls he made to the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles International Airport in July.
Stables also faces a defamation suit from TVNZ sports presenter April Ieremia, who has complained about comments by Stables that the pair are in a relationship.
Stables said outside the court that he wore the suit to help him fight the injustice of the charges.
He would continue to wear the outfit during his court appearances.
He was remanded at large without plea to reappear this month.
